FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The Phoenix Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI) held a Reading Rally at the Andalucia Middle School Library, Phoenix, Arizona on Monday, 26 October, 2009. Although held on Monday, this event was the chapter's contribution to the national Make A Difference Day, and in support of promoting literacy in children, one of EWI's major goals.

A 5th grade class of 34 students from Andalucia Middle School participated by selecting books and practicing reading skills to EWI representatives. The life of Louis Braille and of Thomas Edison were just two of the many choices available.

Each child was presented with a Reading Rally T-shirt, a work book, snacks and school supplies and each was allowed to pick three books to take home. Each child will be encouraged to read to an EWI representative during the Reading Rally and will be given several books to take home.
