Kerry Feltenberg 2009/2010 Chapter President
Thank you to everyone who braved the crazy rain in January to attend our membership meeting! It was very exciting to have a number of guests in attendance that are considering joining the Phoenix Chapter!

Congratulations to our hardworking membership committee, headed by Audrey Monell and Janet Anderson and to all of you for taking our Chapter growth seriously. Who will win the grand prize of a weekend at Arizona Grand?!!!

The EWI Corporate Board and Office hosted a President's conference call recently and I would like to share the topics discussed with all of you. Each of the Corporate Board presented an update on the projects they have been working on during their tenure so far.

Here are some highlights of the projects currently underway and success stories:

Preparing 2011 Corporate Budget along with the Budget Committee. Plan to have a draft to the membership in the Spring for review and comments;
  • Planning Presidents Caucus---this year we will have special sessions geared for the incoming Vice Presidents!
  • Website: New Webmaster, Kevin B. Robbins (Ironclad 360), was selected and announced. The Corporate Website will have the same look but will be enriched and efficiently managed. The reconstruction of the site's template will allow easier site management for Chapters;
  • New database: A solution has been selected and is being implemented in tandem with the website development;
  • EWISP deadline April 30, 2010 & ASIST deadline July 1, 2010 (Change in application process this year;
  • 2008 - 2009 Teleseminars are free and available for download from the Corporate website
  • EWI Online and Academy Online is no longer available;
  • EWI of Grand Prairie - Chartering Date, Thursday, June 3, 2010 (33 Member Firms currently);
  • EWI of San Francisco - Western Region Advisor assisting with growth initiatives to move from Satellite to Charter status;
  • EWI of Pomona Valley - Possible boundary changes within the immediate area, as well as outlying areas to allow for two more Chapters, i.e. San Bernadino and Palm Springs;
  • National Recruitment Plan -
  • Identified missing Major categories for each Chapter and assists Chapters in recruitment efforts;
  • Identified 75 potential firms to fill 25 missing Mayor Classifications with recruitment steps taken to incorporate these companies in each EWI Chapter city where they have a presence;
  • A comprehensive study will be conducted of the demographics of EWI Member Firms and their representatives.
  • Virtual Chapter - Continued research of a potential Pilot Program;
  • The "15 for 12" Membership Campaign for 2009 brought in 92 new firms, and 107 new representatives.
There is no better time to be a member of EWI - I encourage you all to take advantage of the opportunities your membership offers. Thank you all for your renewal and support of the Phoenix Chapter. Have a great month!
