![]() The Tucson Chapter had 12 people in attendance and the San Diego Chapter had two people, one of which was the Corporate Membership Director Darlene Banogon. We had the President of the Tucson Chapter Michelle Matthews and the President of the San Diego Chapter Ruthanne Morgan. I want to thank everyone that traveled so far to come to attend this meeting. It was great to meet everyone and to be able to share ideas. I also want to thank all the people that worked so hard to make this meeting come off without a flaw. Kerry Feltenberg, did an incredible job, getting everyone super rooms, providing a perfect meeting room, along with the awesome food for both breakfast and lunch. Also the Arizona Grand Resort provided Lori's a room(Villa) along with many other special treats at no cost to the chapter. Thanks Kerry for everything that you do you are awesome! Then there is my buddy Valerie Flores she provided Lori's airline ticket and started the ball rolling with Lori when she was in San Francisco at the Alumni Meeting. Without Valerie this meeting would not have ever happened. Thank you Valerie you are such a wonderful person and exceptional member of this chapter. Of course there is Janet Anderson and Billie Eggleston. They put together some beautiful goodie bags for everyone that attended and believe me that is a lot of work. Thanks to Janet and Billie for everything you do for the Phoenix Chapter, you are always there to lend a helping hand. What would we do without you two? This past Saturday was the Membership Retreat at Sue Orzechowski cabin in Munds Park. It was wonderful. Sue, Linda, Annette did an outstanding job putting everything together. It was a great time to get to know each other better and see some good movies in a beautiful place. Thank you Sue for opening up your home to all of us that attended and being such a wonderful host. Oh and the massage that I got was outstanding, best I have ever had. Just another added benefit, along with the great food and good company. I can’t wait for the next time. I would also like to congratulate the people that won the LCAM Scholarships for this year. They are as follows: Doris Donovan who won the full scholarship of $615.00. The other scholarship was divided between Jenni Burns who won $310.00 and Audrey Monell who also won $310.00. I would like to thank these members for applying and I know this is a wonderful and exciting experience for all of you. August is our business meeting for the chapter, please make every effort to attend so you can be a part of the important discussions regarding this chapter. We will be covering the chapter standing rules and voting on them. Voting on the proposed slate of officers, the future leaders of our chapter, and discussing the bylaw changes that have been proposed by EWI Corporate, along with discussing the alternates for the Annual Meeting in Louisville this September. Our own Marlene Everding will present a review of the Orientation she provides to our new chapter members. Each person attending will receive a copy of the Orientation Book that Marlene has put together. This is a wonderful way to refresh our memories of what EWI is. Please mark you calendar now for our meeting on August 18th. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at this very important meeting on Tuesday August 18th at Macayo in Tempe. Please make every effort to attend. Sondra 2008/2009 Phoenix Chapter President
