At the January meeting, Detective Paul Weishaar from the Phoenix Police Department, Property Crimes Bureau, Document Crimes Detail, gave a very informative presentation on Identity Theft. Some of the items that Detective Weishaar shared with us were:
- There has been a 64% increase in cases over the last 10 years
- Phoenix area in top five for:
- Mail theft
- Auto theft
- Methamphetamine use
- Identity Theft
- Items that can be forged/altered
