EWI of Phoenix's 2nd Annual Golf Tournament was held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Arizona Grand Resort.

 

EWI Phoenix Chapter Elects New Board

On Tuesday, September 14, 2011 the Phoenix Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI) met at Skye Restaurant for the installation ceremony for the new 2011-2012 EWI Phoenix Chapter Board of Directors.

Scholarship Awarded

Shannon Beckham, a junior at Xavier College Preparatory, in Phoenix, Arizona will be awarded a scholarship by the Phoenix Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI) at a dinner in her honor at Skye Restaurant, Arrowhead.

The award will be presented by Kris Erickson, the EWI Scholarship Program (EWISP) Chair for 2011.

Ms. Beckham is an aspiring writer and speaker who has already achieved much in her young life; giving back to the community in many ways.  Ms. Beckham plans to major in Political Science and minor in Spanish and Communications.  She also plans to obtain a law degree.  Her goal is to work in Washington, D.C. as a political advisor and speechwriter.

As first place winner in the Phoenix Chapter EWISP competition, Ms. Beckham is automatically entered at the national EWISP level with an opportunity to win additional scholarship funding.

EWISP is an annual competition-based program open to all juniors attending Maricopa County high schools. The competition is based on academics, leadership qualities, citizenship and extra-curricular activities as well as written and oral communication skills; the winner was chosen by a panel of independent judges including Dave Cheatham, Velocity Retail Group; Patricia Greenquist, Arizona Department of Health Services; and Judge John P. Ore, Retired Justice of the Peace, Maricopa County. Guest speaker at the presentation was Judge John P. Ore, Retired Justice of the Peace, Maricopa County.

Ye Ol’Fashion Hoe-down

The Phoenix Chapter of Executive Women International's annual fundraiser, deemed the 'Ye Ol'Fashion Hoe-down', is scheduled for Saturday, March 26, 2011.  This event is being held at the Rustler's Rooste from 6:30 to 11:00 p.m. and will feature live music, dancing, dinner, silent auction, raffle, Barn auction, gaming tables, and several other fun activities.
