Kathryn Biegel, a senior at Mountain View High School in Mesa, Arizona was awarded a $5000 scholarship by the Phoenix Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI) in April.

Ms. Biegel was ranked first in her junior class of 755 and in addition to her academic achievements, she is an award-winning athlete, an accomplished musician, an active member of her church youth league, a community volunteer and swim instructor. She placed second in national competition for the World Scholars Cup International Competition in her sophomore year resulting in an invitation for her team to represent the United States in Singapore. Ms. Biegel would like to pursue a career in law as an attorney or judge.

As first place winner in the Phoenix Chapter EWISP competition, Ms. Biegel was automatically entered at the national EWISP level where she was awarded an additional $2500.

EWISP is an annual competition-based program open to all juniors attending Maricopa County high schools.  The competition is based on academics, leadership qualities, citizenship and extra-curricular activities as well as written and oral communication skills; the winner was chosen by a panel of independent judges.

The Phoenix Chapter of Executive Women International has nominated President Kerry Feltenberg, Arizona Grand Resort, and Vice-President/President Elect, Jennifer Burns, Bell Signs as Delegates for the EWI 63^rd Leadership Conference and Annual Meeting.  This conference will be held September 23-25, 2010 in Kansas City, Mo.
